Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Ion Coordination and Chelation in a Glycolated Polymer Semiconductor: Molecular Dynamics and X-Ray Fluorescence Study

open access: yes, 2020
Organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) are based on the doping of a semiconducting polymer by an electrolyte. Due to their ability to conjugate volumetric ion penetration with high hole mobility and charge density, polythiophenes bearing glycolated ...

Incorporation of Selenium into Sol–Gel‐Derived Bioactive Glass: Influence on Glass Structure, Bioactivity, and its Selective Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Selenium was incorporated into a sol–gel‐derived bioactive glass to enable sustained therapeutic ion release. The selenium‐containing glass preserved bioactivity while selectively inducing cytotoxicity in osteosarcoma cells and maintaining osteoblastic viability.

A two-dimensional CdII coordination polymer: poly[diaqua[μ3-5,6-bis(pyridin-2-yl)pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylato-κ5O2:O3:O3,N4,N5]cadmium]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2016
The reaction of 5,6-bis(pyridin-2-yl)pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid with cadmium dichloride leads to the formation of the title two-dimensional coordination polymer, [Cd(C16H8N4O4)(H2O)2]n.

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

The one-dimensional coordination polymer poly[tetrakis[(4-chlorophenyl)methanaminium] [cadmate-μ-cyclohexaphosphorato]]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2011
Cyclohexaphosphoric acid (P6O18H6) reacts with cadmium carbonate and 4-chlorobenzylamine (CBA) to give the mononuclear title complex, (C7H9ClN)4[Cd(P6O18)]n, in which the CdII atom, lying on an inversion centre, has an octahedral coordination built of ...

Quantification of ultrasound-induced chain scission in PdII-phosphine coordination polymers

open access: yes, 2006
A kinetically inert, reversible coordination polymer (3) was obtained through complexation of dicyclohexylphosphine telechelic poly(tetrahydrofuran) with palladium(II) dichloride.

Synthesis and structural properties of a 2D Zn(II) dodecahydroxy-closo-dodecaborate coordination polymer

open access: yes, 2022
In this work, we discuss the synthesis and characterization of a 2D coordination polymer composed of a dianionic perhydroxylated boron cluster, [B12(OH)122-], coordinated to Zn(II)—the first example of a transition metal-coordinated [B12(OH)12]2 ...

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Poly[[bis(dimethylformamide)[μ7-5,5′-(methylenedioxy)diisophthalato]dizinc] dimethylformamide monosolvate]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2011
In the crystal structure of the title coordination polymer, {[Zn2(C17H8O10)(C3H7NO)2]·C3H7NO}n, the molecular building block (MBB), viz. {Zn2(CO2)4(C3H7NO)2}, comprises two zinc atoms, each bridged by three carboxylate groups. These two Zn atoms
