Polyphenols, antioxidants, and antimutagenic effects of Copaifera langsdorffii fruit

open access: yesFood Chemistry, 2016
Copaifera langsdorffii (copaiba) is a Brazilian exotic fruit, poorly studied regarding its bioactive composition. The aim of this study was to determine bioactive compounds, antioxidant and antimutagenic activities of copaiba pulp. The samples were extracted with different solvents in order to analyze polyphenol compounds (Folin Ciocalteau and HPLC-DAD)

Loss of desiccation tolerance in Copaifera langsdorffii Desf. seeds during germination [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2014
This study evaluated the loss of desiccation tolerance in C. langsdorffii seeds during the germination process. Seeds were imbibed for 24, 48, 72, 96, 120 and 144 hours and dried to the initial moisture content, kept in this state for 3 days after which they were submitted to pre-humidification and rehydration.

Population structure and spatial distribution of Copaifera langsdorffii Desf.

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Crop Science, 2020
The aim of this work was to analyze the population structure and the spatial distribution of Copaifera langsdorffii Desf. in two areas of the Cerrado biome. The study was carried out in two physiognomies of the Cerrado biome: cerrado sensu stricto and cerradão, both located in the southern region of the state of Tocantins.

Wood and Leaf Anatomy of Copaifera langsdorffii Dwarf Trees [PDF]

open access: yesIAWA Journal, 2014
There are various parameters that affect tree height and may cause dwarfism. Our goal was to study the anatomical variations in the leaf and xylem structure in dwarf and normal trees of Copaifera langsdorffii and their correlation with physico-chemical properties of the soils.

Shading for water stress mitigation in Copaifera langsdorffii Desf. seedlings

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Botany, 2021
Abstract In this study, we hypothesized that Copaifera langsdorffii Desf. seedlings do not tolerate cultivation under water deficit, but shading could minimize stressor effects of water shortage and enable fast antioxidant responses, maintaining high photosynthetic rates and favoring stressed plant recovery.

Genetic diversity and mating system of Copaifera langsdorffii (Leguminosae/Caesalpinioideae)

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Research, 2013
Copaifera langsdorffii, locally known as copaíba, is a valuable tropical tree with medicinal properties of its oil. We studied the genetic variation, genetic structure, and the mating system of trees in stands of C. langsdorffii (Leguminosae/Caesalpinioideae) located in an extensive area between the Pardo and Mogi-Guaçu basins in São Paulo State ...
