Indoles Synthesized from Amines via Copper Catalysis
Organic Letters, 2013N-substituted indoles are synthesized from primary amines through a tandem reaction sequence. Initial condensation of the amine with an α-(o-haloaryl)ketone or aldehyde is followed by intramolecular aryl amination catalyzed by CuI. A variety of anilines and alkyl amines, including those with significant steric demands, are converted to indoles in high ...

Sulfide scale catalysis of copper corrosion
Water Research, 2000Abstract The presence of soluble sulfides in a low alkalinity simulated drinking water increased copper pipe corrosion rates by more than one order of magnitude at pH 6.5 and more than two orders of magnitude at pH 9.2. Sulfides caused formation of a thick, black porous scale layer on pipes that did not significantly reduce pipe corrosion rates even ...

A Fluxional Copper Acetylide Cluster in CuAAC Catalysis
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2015AbstractA molecularly defined copper acetylide cluster with ancillary N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands was prepared under acidic reaction conditions. This cluster is the first molecular copper acetylide complex that features high activity in copper‐catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloadditions (CuAAC) with added acetic acid even at −5 °C.

Copper-cascade catalysis: synthesis of 3-functionalized indoles
Chemical Communications, 2011A three-component reaction of indoles, sulfonyl azides and terminal alkynes afforded 3-functionalized indoles in a single step via copper-cascade catalysis.

Photoredox Catalysis Using Copper Complexes
2019In the present thesis, the value of copper complexes for photoredox catalysis is demonstrated. In particular, new copper photoredox catalysts were developed and investigations were carried out to identify new ATRA reagents. On the basis of the visible-light-mediated chloramination of alkenes, it became particularly evident that the special reactivity ...
