X-ray structures of dinuclear copper(I) and polynuclear copper(II) complexes with the 2,4-bis(cyanamido)cyclobutane-1,3-dione dianion [PDF]
From the 2,4-bis(cyanamido)cyclobutane-1,3-dione dianion (2,4-NCNsq2−), two copper complexes [Cu2(PPh3)4(PhCN)2(μ-2,4-NCNsq)] · PhCN (1) and [Cu(dien)(μ-2,4-NCNsq) · H2O]n (2) have been synthesized and characterized by IR and electronic absorption ...

Synthesis, spectral and solution studies on 2-ethyl imidazolate-bridged (2-EtIm) homo-binuclear copper(II)-copper(II) and hetero-binuclear copper(II)-zinc(II) homologue are described. Magnetic moment values of homo-binuclear complexes indicate that the imidazolate group can mediate antiferromagnetic interactions.

Molecular characterization of mesophilic and thermophilic sulfate reducing microbial communities in expanded granular sludge bed (EGSB) reactors [PDF]
The microbial communities established in mesophilic and thermophilic expanded granular sludge bed reactors operated with sulfate as the electron acceptor were analyzed using 16S rRNA targeted molecular methods, including denaturing gradient gel ...

Electrochemical extraction of europium from molten fluoride media [PDF]
This work concerns the extraction of europium from molten fluoride media. Two electrochemical ways have been examined: (i) the use of a reactive cathode made of copper and (ii) the co-deposition with aluminium on inert electrode, leading to the formation

‘Copper and Bronze in Art’ and the Search for Rare Corrosion Products
The information taken from David A. Scott’s book “Copper and Bronze in Art” was crucial for this research on copper corrosion products in Stuttgart. The examples discussed are: (1) the nature and variability of ‘Black Spots’ (or ‘Brown Fuzzies’), mainly ...

Copper(II)- and gold(III)-mediated cyclization of a thiourea to a substituted 2-aminobenzothiazole [PDF]
Benzothiazole derivatives are a class of privileged molecules due to their biological activity and pharmaceutical applications. One route to these molecules is via intramolecular cyclization of thioureas to form substituted 2-aminobenzothiazoles, but ...

Copper (II), a vital fungicide in organic viticulture, also acts as a wine oxidation catalyst. However, limited data are currently available on the impact that maximum allowed copper (II) ion doses in wine grapes at harvest can have on aged wine quality.
