A compact flow-based system for the determination of copper(II) and zinc(II) in water using solid-phase extraction coupled with pH modulation

open access: yesResults in Chemistry
Metals such as copper(II) and zinc(II) can be found in natural and drinking water sources. However, at high concentrations, they pose significant risks to human health.

3-Nitroso-4-hydroxy-5,6-benzocoumarin (NHBC) as a reagent for the spectrophotometric determination of copper(II) in alloys

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1974
Copper(II) forms in the pH range 6.3 to 7.8 a yellowish brown complex with 3-nitroso-4-hydroxy-5,6-benzocoumarin which is soluble in a 60 % dioxan medium giving a deep yellow coloured solution. Beer’s law is obeyed up to 2.80 ppm of copper(II) at 420 nm.

Binding copper(II) ion released from azo-amino acid Schiff base complex into lysozyme crystals as models for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease [PDF]

open access: yesExploration of Drug Science
Aim: One of the causes of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the structural change and aggregation of target proteins due to the binding of metal ions. In this study, we investigated where copper(II) ions bound to the protein egg white lysozyme crystals in a ...

Bis(amino acidato)copper(II) compounds in blood plasma: a review of computed structural properties and amino acid affinities for Cu2+ informing further pharmacological research

open access: yesArhiv za Higijenu Rada i Toksikologiju
Neutral bis(amino acidato)copper(II) [Cu(aa)2] coordination compounds are the physiological species of copper(II) amino acid compounds in blood plasma taking the form of bis(l-histidinato)copper(II) and mixed ternary copper(II)-l-histidine complexes ...

N,N′,N′′ versus N,N′,O imine-containing coordination motifs: ligand-directed synthesis of mononuclear and binuclear CuII compounds

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2017
It is demonstrated here that tridentate imine ligands can control the nuclearity of copper(II) complexes based on the donor atoms present in the ligand.

Monotropic Polymorphism in Copper(II) Decanoate

open access: yesCrystal Growth & Design, 2008
Copper(II) decanoate was synthesized, purified and studied by DSC, optical microscopy, XRD, and FTIR and C-13 NMR spectroscopies. Depending on the solvent used for crystallization two polymorphs were obtained. A combination of singlecrystal and powder XRD was used to study their structures.

Copper(II) Bromide Complexes: Crystal Structures, Magnetic Properties, and Hydrogen-Bond-Mediated Exchange

open access: yesInorganics
Copper(II) compounds exhibit interesting magnetic properties due to halide–halide, copper–halide, and intermolecular hydrogen bond interactions. In this study, seven new copper(II) bromide complexes were synthesised, six of which contain Dabco (1,4 ...
