The Preparation of an Ultrafine Copper Powder by the Hydrogen Reduction of an Ultrafine Copper Oxide Powder and Reduction Kinetics. [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials (Basel)
Ultrafine copper powders were prepared by the air-jet milling of copper oxide (CuO) powders and a subsequent hydrogen (H2) reduction. After milling, the particle size and grain size of CuO powders decreased, while the specific surface area and structural microstrain increased, thereby improving the reaction activity.

“Turbulent” electrical transport in copper powders [PDF]

open access: yesEurophysics Letters (EPL), 2004
Compressed copper powder has a very large electrical resistance (1MOhm), due to the oxide layer on grains (100 micro m). We observe that its voltage-current U-I characteristics are nonlinear, and undergo an instability, from an insulating to a conductive state at relatively small applied voltages. Current through the powder is then noisy, and the noise

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Metal Coated Copper Powders

open access: yesMaterials, 2020
Laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) of copper alloys with high copper content is difficult due to the high infrared reflectivity and thermal conductivity of these alloys. In this study a simple and scalable method for coating copper powder with tin and nickel is presented, and suggested as an alloying strategy for such alloys.
