Copper powder rolling technology (review)

Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 2000
Published data are analyzed for the rolling technology of copper powder. It is established that production parameters for manufacturing copper rolled product are predetermined by the preparation method, chemical composition, shape and size of the original powder, the type of rolling equipment, and also the intended use of the final product.

Production of Copper and Copper Alloy Powders

2015
Abstract This article describes the fundamentals of various techniques used for the production of copper and copper alloy powders. These include atomization (water, air, and gas), oxide reduction, and electrolysis. The article discusses the effects of electrolyte composition and operating conditions on the characteristics of copper and ...

Vibration Cladding of Copper Powder with Aluminum

Inorganic Materials: Applied Research, 2019
This paper proposes a method for rapid cladding of copper powder with aluminum. The optimal parameters (frequency and amplitude of oscillations) of the experimental setup and the dispersity and volume fraction of the interacting powders are determined. The most productive cladding mechanism is considered. Dependences of the coating thickness (from 5 to

Slip-Casting of Copper Powder

1966
It has been demonstrated that copper powder can be slip-cast using sodium alginate as a deflocculant binder and water as a liquid vehicle. The results show that spherically shaped powder is preferable to irregularly shaped powder for the production of copper slip-castings. The viscosity of a copper slip is related to its pH value and exhibits a minimum

SHS Reprocessing of Copper Oxide Waste into Copper Powder

International Journal of Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis, 2019
Here we report on a single-step, eco-friendly, and facile approach to combustion-assisted reprocessing of oily copper waste into copper powder without preliminary cleaning. Complete reduction of copper from oily copper waste in the combustion wave was reached in the presence of ammonium nitrate and without introducing any reducing agent.

Sintering of Copper Ultrafine Powders

1989
Sintering characteristics were examined for the Oxidized (subjected to slow oxidation treatment) Cu and the Fresh (not subjected to slow oxidation treatment) Cu ultrafine powders(UFPs). Gas desorption, reduction and densification of two kinds of Cu UFPs during sintering in a vacuum or in a hydrogen atmosphere were discussed.

Three-layer copper-iron-copper strips of metal powder

Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 1964
The experimental study of the effect of the dimensions of the feed mechanism and the properties of powder upon the relative thickness of copper and iron layers in pore-free strip was carried out. An equation is suggested for the calculation of the relative thickness of copper layers in pore-free strips prior to rolling; this equation takes into account

The stabilization of electrodeposited copper powder

Surface and Coatings Technology, 1986
Abstract Copper powder was electrodeposited from a solution containing copper sulphate and sulphuric acid. The stability of the powder, as measured by the resistance to oxidation, was assessed over a range of temperatures using a thermal balance. Similar powder was treated with an aqueous solution of benzotriazole, a specific corrosion inhibitor for ...

Preparation and anti-oxidisation resistance of silver-coated copper powders by cobalt-modified copper powders

Materials Science and Technology
Spherical copper powders and cobalt-modified copper powders were electroless plated with silver, respectively, to obtain two kinds of silver-plated copper powders. The composite powders were analysed by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and thermogravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry.

Copper oxide powder as a copper supplement for sheep.

Journal of trace elements and electrolytes in health and disease, 1995
The ability of oral doses of copper oxide powder to raise liver and blood copper concentration was examined in penned sheep given a pelleted diet containing 4 mg of copper per kg dry matter. Merino sheep of similar live weight and liver copper concentration were allocated at random to one of six treatment groups of four sheep each.
