A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

Interpretable Force Perturbations Promote Gait Variability Without Affecting Perceived Exoskeleton Transparency

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering
Force perturbations during gait training can increase movement variability, which may support motor exploration and learning. However, when such perturbations are delivered through a robotic exoskeleton, they can also reduce perceived exoskeleton ...

Revolutionising Agricultural Sustainability: New ‘Furrow Tillage’ can Mitigate Short‐Term Soil‐to‐Atmosphere CO2 Flux and Promote Soil‐Plant‐Microbe Health

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Furrow tillage resolves the conventional‐vs.‐no‐tillage trade‐off by simultaneously cutting CO2 efflux to 2.0–3.0 g C m−2 d−1 and unlocking high nutrient availability for the rice rhizosphere. This scalable agronomic solution strengthens soil health, enhances plant physiology, reshapes microbial metabolism, and shifts paddy systems toward a net ...

A Universal Protein Ladder for Standardization of Diverse FRET Assays

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Translating FRET measurements from in vitro to intracellular environments requires universal benchmarks. We present a modular protein ladder using TPR motifs to harmonize data across diverse platforms. This predictable calibration curve bridges single molecule FRET measurements, with cell based measurements including FLIM‐FRET.

Cancer‐Associated BCL‐2 Mutants Reveal Mechanisms Towards Venetoclax Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Venetoclax (VEN) resistance in chronic lymphocytic leukemia arises from diverse BCL2 mutations. We map mechanisms contributing to VEN resistance across common BCL‐2 variants. G101V and D103Y reduce drug binding and increase sequestration of pro‐apoptotic proteins. V156D blocks VEN allosterically.

Carbohydrate Physicochemical Properties: The Innate Hydrogen Bond Donating Capacities of α‐Glucoside and α‐Galactoside Alcohol Groups

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Experimental determination of the innate hydrogen bond donating capacities of the glucose and galactose non‐anomeric alcohols revealed significant variations depending on position and relative configuration, which were quantified on the pKAHY scale, relevant for MedChem purposes, hence providing another tool toward rational glycomimetic development ...

From Molecular to Clinical Implications of Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders on the Treatment and Recovery of Acute Stroke: A Scoping Review

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology
(1) Background: The aim of this review is to map research into the molecular mechanisms linking sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBDs) and acute stroke and their clinical and therapeutic implications and to identify existing knowledge gaps to suggest ...
