Agromorphological Purification of Farmer’s Seeds and Diversity of Corchorus olitorius Linn.
Journal of Experimental Agriculture International, 2023Corchorus olitorius is commonly cultivated by household women for livelihood in Togo. No database has been found for gene bank tractability in Togo. This study aims to contribute to a better knowledge of diversity in C. olitorius from Togo, thereby developing a database information on this neglected crop. Twenty-seven accessions were collected in the 5

Haploidy in Jute (Corchorus olitorius L.)
Nature, 1961HAPLOIDY was first reported to occur in Datura stramonium by Blakeslee et al.1. Since then, haploids occurring spontaneously or induced under artificial conditions have been recorded in many flowering plants2. As far as we are aware, haploidy in Corchorus has not yet been reported.

The triglyceride composition of Corchorus olitorius seed oil
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1973AbstractCorchorus olitorius seed oil and its randomised product have been subjected to pancreatic hydrolysis. Glyceride compositions have been calculated from the original fatty acid composition and those of the monoglycerides produced by hydrolysis. The percent GS3 content of the seed oil and of its interesterified product have also been determined by

THE TOXICITY OF JUTE (CORCHORUS OLITORIUS) SEED TO PIGS
Australian Veterinary Journal, 1982SUMMARY Finely ground Corchorus olitorius seed was administered as a daily drench to 1 pig at 100mg/kg body weight and as a single drench to 2 pigs at 500 mg/kg body weight. The latter 2 died within 48 hours, and the former was killed on the 7th day as it approached a moribund state.

Tissue culture independent transformation for Corchorus olitorius
Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 2008In vitro regeneration is difficult for species of Corchorus and several transformation attempts based on tissue culture have failed. We describe a successful transformation protocol for C. olitorius using a technique independent of tissue culture. Primary growth of a plant is brought about from the activities of meristematic region and subsequent ...
