Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

The Innermost Ejecta of Core Collapse Supernovae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We ensure successful explosions (of otherwise non-explosive models) by enhancing the neutrino luminosity via reducing the neutrino scattering cross sections or by increasing the heating efficiency via enhancing the neutrino absorption cross sections in ...

Gravitational Wave Eigenfrequencies from Neutrino-driven Core-collapse Supernovae

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Core-collapse supernovae (CCSNe) are predicted to produce gravitational waves (GWs) that may be detectable by Advanced LIGO/Virgo. These GW signals carry information from the heart of these cataclysmic events, where matter reaches nuclear densities ...

Collapses and explosions in self-gravitating systems

open access: yes, 2003
Collapse and reverse to collapse explosion transition in self-gravitating systems are studied by molecular dynamics simulations. A microcanonical ensemble of point particles confined to a spherical box is considered; the particles interact via an ...

Preliminary Results from the Caltech Core-Collapse Project (CCCP) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present preliminary results from the Caltech Core-Collapse Project (CCCP), a large observational program focused on the study of core-collapse SNe.

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Luminous Radio Emission from the Superluminous Supernova 2017ens at 3.3 yr after Explosion

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
We present the results from a multiyear radio campaign of the superluminous supernova (SLSN) SN 2017ens, which yielded the earliest radio detection of an SLSN to date at the age of ∼3.3 yr after explosion. SN 2017ens was not detected at radio frequencies

Fokker-Planck Models of Star Clusters with Anisotropic Velocity Distributions. I. Pre-Collapse Evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The evolution of a spherical single-mass star cluster is followed in detail up to core collapse by numerically solving the orbit-averaged two-dimensional Fokker-Planck equation in energy-angular momentum space.
