Divergent Influences of Oceanic Western Boundary Currents on Weak and Strong Tropical Cyclones
Abstract Tropical cyclones (TCs) in the Northern Hemisphere often cross oceanic western boundary currents (WBCs), yet how these warm currents modulate TC intensity remains unclear. We analyze TCs traversing the Kuroshio and Gulf Stream during 1993–2025 and find that weak TCs respond more favorably than strong TCs.

Abstract Against the backdrop of global warming, warm Arctic‐cold Eurasia (WACE) has garnered extensive scientific attention. However, the drivers of its interdecadal variability remain insufficiently understood. Using reanalysis data and pre‐industrial control simulations, we demonstrate that winter Asian‐Pacific Oscillation (APO), a dominant upper ...

Observed Joy’s Law of Bipolar Magnetic Region Tilts at Emergence Supports the Thin Flux Tube Model
Bipolar sunspots, or more generally, bipolar magnetic regions (BMRs), are the dynamic magnetic regions that appear on the solar surface and are central to solar activity. One striking feature of these regions is that they are often tilted with respect to

ABSTRACT Sørlige Nordsjø II (SNII) is a planned large‐scale offshore wind farm in the Southern Norwegian North Sea near the Danish border, with phased development targeting a total installed capacity of up to 3 GW. For projects of this scale, site assessments are typically performed using computationally efficient analytical models.

Abstract Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) satellite platforms and quantum‐optical sensing technologies may provide new observation approaches for improving Earth's static gravity field models. This study conceptually assesses their potential contribution through a two‐tier closed‐loop simulation framework.

Abstract Understanding the distributions of trace elements, like iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), barium (Ba), and vanadium (V) in the Arctic Ocean is motivated in part because they can modulate key biogeochemical rate processes as micronutrients and/or toxins for primary producers ...

ABSTRACT The waters surrounding the southern Iberian Peninsula are a key conservation area for the long‐finned pilot whale (Globicephala melas melas), particularly in the pelagic regions of the Strait of Gibraltar, the Alboran Sea, and the Gulf of Vera, where upwelling, complex bathymetry and frontal dynamics enhance productivity and prey availability,

Neutral Wind Control of Jupiter's Non‐Auroral Ionosphere
Abstract We use JAMMIES (JAMMIES is Another Model Making Ionospheric EStimates), a new model of Jupiter's non‐auroral ionosphere, to demonstrate that neutral wind‐driven field‐aligned plasma transport can explain decades of measurements inconsistent with a solar‐dominated ionosphere. Two observations highlight these inconsistencies: a minimum in H3+ ${\
