Sagnac effect and EMF in heavy-electron materials: Revisitation of Coriolis force and Euler force

open access: yesResults in Physics
The “inertial mass” mi in the equation of motion to describe a carrier is usually m∗≠m0 where m0=9.1×10-31kg is the rest mass of an electron in free space.

Linking Extreme Precipitation to Pluvial Hydrometeorological Disasters in Southeast Asia Using a Long‐Term Event Database

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract Frequent pluvial hydrometeorological disasters in Southeast Asia (SEA) threaten lives and property, yet the region lacks a unified disaster data set for risk management and research. This study develops a provincial‐level data set integrating multi‐source hazard reports with precipitation data and identifies empirical rainfall reference values

Modeling Storm‐Time Post‐Midnight Equatorial Plasma Bubbles With SAMI3‐WACCMX: Impacts of Neutral Winds, Thermospheric Composition, and Atmospheric Waves

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract This study investigates the roles of neutral winds, composition and atmospheric waves in storm‐time post‐midnight equatorial plasma bubble (EPB) development using the coupled SAMI3‐WACCMX model. Simulations reveal the formation of post‐midnight EPBs extending beyond 1,500 km in altitude and persisting into the post‐sunrise period.

Structure of Boundary Layer Wind and Turbulence in Super Typhoon Ragasa and Typhoon Wipha During Landfall

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract Boundary layer turbulence and vertical mixing exert great control over the structure and evolution of tropical cyclones (TCs). However, scaling and parameterizing them remains challenging due to their inherent complexity and limited observations.

CYCLOP Revegoca: The First Documented Cyclone Formed From Locally Originating Potential Intensity Over the Southwestern South Atlantic

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract On 9 December 2025, an atypical synoptic cyclone developed near the borders of Paraguay, Argentina, and southern Brazil, triggering severe weather across south‐southeastern Brazil. Unlike typical South Atlantic extratropical cyclones, which intensify near the coast, this system originated inland and underwent explosive cyclogenesis without a ...

Study on Error Caused by Density Effect of Coriolis Mass Flowmeter

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2013
:A mechanism was proposed to explain the error of Coriolis mass flowmeter in testing different density. The results showed that the upper segment of tube in U shape had velocity gradient when torsion triggered by Coriolis force, thus produced an adverse ...

Terrain‐Induced Contrasts in the Diurnal Variations of Low‐Level Jets Over the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River During the 2010 Mei‐yu Field Campaign

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Abstract The diurnal cycle of low‐level jets (LLJs) plays a crucial role in severe convective weather during the Mei‐yu season over the middle reaches of the Yangtze River (MRYR). However, previous studies have focused on individual sites or large‐scale climatic contrasts, leaving sub‐regional variations in LLJ diurnal behaviors and their governing ...

Impact of Upper‐Level Warming on Tropical Cyclone Intensity

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 17, 16 September 2026.
Abstract Deep convection from tropical cyclones (TCs) can reach the height of the tropopause and as such an interaction between the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere is likely to occur. Such interactions have been reported in both numerical and observational studies, mainly showing that subsidence from the stratosphere into the eye of an ...
