Scale effect of amount of molten corium and outlet diameters on corium spreading

Progress in Nuclear Energy, 2020
Abstract The difference in the amount of molten corium and outlet diameter influences the corium spreading, which is essential to enhance the safety of nuclear power plants. To investigate this phenomenon, in this work, the influence of the scale relation between the amount of molten metal and the outlet diameter (L/D) on the corium spreading was ...

Corium-Sodium and Corium-Water Fuel-Coolant-Interaction Experimental Programs for the PLINIUS2 Prototypic Corium Platform

Nuclear Technology, 2018
Fuel-coolant interaction (FCI) is an important issue for the assessment of severe accident safety for both sodium-cooled fast reactors (SFRs) and pressurized water reactors (PWRs).

Numerical Simulation of Concrete Ablation and Corium Cooling for Molten Corium-Concrete Interaction (MCCI)

Volume 3: Student Paper Competition; Thermal-Hydraulics; Verification and Validation, 2020
Abstract In a postulated severe accident situation in Light Water Reactors (LWRs), if the core fuel cannot be effectively cooled, the reactor core material will be heated and form a molten corium in the lower head. When the lower plenum of the reactor vessel fails, the molten corium may flow into the cavity under the reactor vessel and ...

Corium transplantation cannula

Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 1993
This article presents a newly designed instrument capable of being used for three surgical procedures:(1) removal of dermis (without epithelium) from a donor site, (2) dissection of specific muscles that cause cutaneous folds, (3) implantation of the dermis under a cutaneous depression or fold.

Clinical and experimental experience with corium grafts

British Journal of Plastic Surgery, 1965
Summary 1.A corium graft represents a slip of skin from which the epidermis and subcutaneous fatty tissue have been removed. 2.This graft was introduced into surgery by Loewe and Rehn under the name "cutis flap"; however, because of the histological structure the name "corium graft" is more appropriate.
