Measurement of an Elasticity Map in the Human Cornea
Purpose The biomechanical properties of the cornea have an important role in determining the shape of the cornea and visual acuity. Since the cornea is a nonhomogeneous tissue, it is thought that the elastic properties vary throughout the cornea.

Tracing the Fate of Limbal Epithelial Progenitor Cells in the Murine Cornea
Stem cell (SC) division, deployment, and differentiation are processes that contribute to corneal epithelial renewal. Until now studying the destiny of these cells in a living mammal has not been possible.

Triangulation and persistence: Algebra 101 [PDF]
This paper lays the foundations of triangulated persistence categories (TPC), which brings together persistence modules with the theory of triangulated categories. As a result we introduce several measurements and metrics on the set of objects of some triangulated categories.

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

The elusive scleral cartilages: Comparative anatomy and development in teleosts and avians
Abstract The sclera of all vertebrate eyes is comprised of connective tissue, with some organisms developing cartilage within this tissue. A review of the cartilages that have been described in the vertebrate sclera and their anatomical relationships is discussed together with their potential homology.

Strong LS category equals cone-length [PDF]
If a path-connected CW-complex can be covered with n + 1 self-contractible, subcomplexes, then there is a homotopy equivalent space that can be constructed from a point by iteratively attaching cones, in n steps, such that, at the step k, the respective ...

Non-contact acoustic micro-tapping optical coherence elastography for evaluating biomechanical changes in the cornea following UV/riboflavin collagen cross linking: ex vivo human study [PDF]
Purpose: To evaluate changes in the anisotropic elastic properties of ex vivo human cornea treated with UV cross-linking (CXL) using non-contact acoustic micro-tapping Optical Coherence Elastography (AuT-OCE) Design: AuT performed on normal and CXL ex vivo human donor cornea Methods: Elastic properties of normal and UV CXL treated human corneas were ...
