Do auditory deviants evoke cortical state changes under anaesthesia? A proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Context‐dependent sensory processing within the predictive coding framework relies on detecting mismatches between incoming stimuli and internal predictive models. Sensory deviants elicit prediction errors, seen as enhanced neural responses, that update these models and influence attention and behaviour.

A Rare Case of reticular Epithelial Corneal Edema Due to Ripasudil Post-ICL in a Young Patient

open access: yesTNOA Journal of Ophthalmic Science and Research
A young female patient underwent uneventful phakic intraocular lens implantation surgery; postoperatively she had raised intraocular pressure with corneal haze in the left eye for which she was started on ripasudil (0.4%) and eventually developed ...

[Superficial corneal edema].

open access: yesJournal of the South African Veterinary Association, 1984
A 4-year-old Miniature Pinscher was presented with bilateral cataracts which were surgically successfully removed. Severe bilateral superficial corneal oedema developed within 6 days. A bilateral superficial keratectomy and membrana nictitans flaps cured the disease.

Transcranial photobiomodulation with near‐infrared laser induces analgesia in rats

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) with a 1064 nm laser alleviated pain. Local field potential (LFP) intensity markedly increased following formalin injection, indicating nociceptive activation. However, after tPBM, this formalin‐induced LFP hyperactivation was diminished. Meanwhile, tPBM preserved brain connectivity that was

Implantable Drug Delivery Systems for Skeletal Muscles and Eyes

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 2, February 2026.
This review highlights the different types of recent implantable drug delivery systems (IDDS) fabricated for a use with skeletal muscles, and with eyes. It presents the developments already made and the current research directions, showing the evolution of IDDS and their great diversity.

Comprehending the Membrane Properties for Emulation in Organs‐on‐a‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 2, February 2026.
The advent of organ‐on‐chip models allows closer emulation of in vivo conditions, leading to effective, less costly, and specific drugs. Although a number of membrane‐based on‐chip models exist, better emulating functional models need to be devised for organ simulations.

Topical application of calcitonin gene-related peptide as a regenerative, antifibrotic, and immunomodulatory therapy for corneal injury

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is a multifunctional neuropeptide abundantly expressed by corneal nerves. Using a murine model of corneal mechanical injury, we found CGRP levels in the cornea significantly reduced after injury. Topical application
