Prediction of ocular irritation by corneal pachymetry
Food and Chemical Toxicology, 1987Corneal pachymetry performed 3 days after application of a variety of test materials to the rabbit eye was found to be predictive of the eye irritation classification determined by observing the ocular response for 21 days. The test materials included NaOH, methanol, isopropanol, acetone, cyclohexanone, hexane and a shampoo. A 0.1-ml sample of the test

Canine corneal thickness measured by ultrasonic pachymetry
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1991SUMMARY Ultrasonic pachymetry was used to measure central, superior peripheral, and temporal peripheral corneal thicknesses of 75 dogs (150 eyes) with normal corneas, anterior chambers, and intraocular pressure. Mean corneal thickness averaged over the 2 eyes, 3 locations, and 75 dogs was 562 ± 6.2 μm.

Measuring Central Corneal Thickness with Ultrasound Pachymetry
Optometry and Vision Science, 2003To determine how many ultrasound pachymetry measurements are required to obtain a reasonable estimate of central corneal thickness.Five central corneal thickness measurements were obtained from each eye of 101 patients with normal corneas. The means of fewer than five readings were compared with the mean of five values for each eye to determine the ...

Correlations between corneal hysteresis, intraocular pressure, and corneal central pachymetry
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2008To analyze the correlation between corneal hysteresis (CH) measured with the Ocular Response Analyzer (ORA, Reichert) and ultrasonic corneal central thickness (CCT US) and intraocular pressure measured with Goldmann applanation tonometry (IOP GA).Bordeaux 2 University, Ophthalmology Department, Bordeaux, France. This study comprised 498 eyes of 258 ...

To assess the repeatability of two optical techniques for measurement of central corneal thickness and to compare the validity of these techniques with standard ultrasound pachymetry.Corneal thickness was measured twice with Konan optical pachymetry, Orbscan optical pachymetry, and 3 times by conventional ultrasound pachymetry in 100 eyes of 50 healthy

Comparison of Four Corneal Pachymetry Techniques in Corneal Refractive Surgery
Journal of Refractive Surgery, 2004ABSTRACT PURPOSE: To assess the effectiveness of optical and ultrasonic pachymetry when examining corneas of patients before and after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). METHODS: We conducted a prospective study of 25 patients (50 eyes) who had LASIK for myopia or myopic astigmatism (mean spherical equivalent refraction -4.80 ± 3.

To compare the repeatability and validity of corneal pachymetry by a corneal confocal microscope with a z-axis adapter (Confoscan 4.0 with z-ring adapter: z-CS4) versus ultrasound (US) pachymetry in the measurement of central corneal thickness (CCT).CCT in 44 eyes of 44 subjects was determined with z-CS4.

Corneal thickness measured by ultrasonic pachymetry in cats
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1993SUMMARY Ultrasonic pachymetry was used to measure central superior peripheral, and temporal peripheral corneal thickness of 35 cats (70 eyes) with normal corneas, anterior chambers, and intraocular pressures. Mean central corneal thickness for both eyes in 3 locations for 35 cats was 578 ± 64 µm.
