An improved algorithm for eye corner detection [PDF]
In this paper, a modified algorithm for the detection of nasal and temporal eye corners is presented. The algorithm is a modification of the Santos and Proenka Method. In the first step, we detect the face and the eyes using classifiers based on Haar-like features. We then segment out the sclera, from the detected eye region. From the segmented sclera,

Corner detection using Gabor filters
This study proposes a contour-based corner detector using the magnitude responses of the imaginary part of the Gabor filters on contours. Unlike the traditional contour-based methods that detect corners by analysing the shape of the edge contours and ...

We report results of a randomized controlled trial to compare ‘HPV screen and treat’ (Arm 1) and ‘HPV screen, triage and treat’ (Arm 2) in women living with HIV (WLHIV), using visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) as the triaging test.

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Fast Event-based Corner Detection [PDF]
Event cameras offer many advantages over standard frame-based cameras, such as low latency, high temporal resolution, and a high dynamic range. They respond to pixel-level brightness changes and, therefore, provide a sparse output. However, in textured scenes with rapid motion, millions of events are generated per second.

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

A Fast and Reliable Corner Detector for Non-Uniform Illumination Mineshaft Images
We propose a fast and reliable corner detector that can detect corners under non-uniform illumination and fuzzy mineshaft images effectively. First, we presented an inner mask that used only four pixels to determine the flat and corner regions of an ...
