Porous Ultralow‐κ sp2‐Bonded Boron Nitride Thin Films as Copper Diffusion Barriers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Porous sp2‐bonded boron nitride (p‐BN) thin films with an ultralow dielectric constant (κ = 1.77) are directly grown on Si substrates via RF magnetron sputtering. The films feature uniform nanopores (1.85 nm), high mechanical stability, hydrophobicity, and excellent Cu diffusion barrier performance even at 3 nm thickness, offering a promising solution ...

Heat‐Suppressing Projection Two‐Photon Lithography Enables High‐Throughput Sub‐Micrometer Manufacturing of Biopolymer Hydrogels for Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The iLEAP technique integrates high‐throughput two‐photon lithography with extrusion printing, bridging sub‐micrometer precision and macroscopic scaffold fabrication. By employing a low‐exothermic photoinitiator, it mitigates thermal damage to biopolymers and preserves bioactivity.

The validity and inter-relationship of subjective and objective measurements of stiffness in human joints [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, progressive, inflammatory disease characterised by pain, stiffness, swelling and loss of function. Severity of these symptoms is extremely variable both between patients and over time in individual patients.

Paraborg: Paramedic Cyborg Insects for In Situ Emergency Drug‐Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces Paraborg, a human‐supervised paramedic cyborg‐insect platform that combines controllable locomotion, onboard imaging, and an auto‐injection mechanism for in situ drug‐delivery. By demonstrating reliable navigation, target stabilization, injector launch, and multi‐insect teamwork, the study extends cyborg insects from survivor ...

Backstepping observer dedicated to tire cornering stiffness estimation: Application to an All Terrain Vehicle and a farm tractor

open access: yes, 2007
International audienceMost of active devices focused on vehicle stability concerns on-road cars and cannot be applied satisfactorily in an off-road context, since the variability and the non-linearities of the tire/ground contact are often neglected.

Laboratory Abrasion Tester to Estimate Tyre Grip and Cornering Stiffness

open access: yes
AbstractIdentification of tyre grip is crucial for ensuring safety and performance. To develop new tyres matching the requirements for grip, extensive testing is required both indoor and outdoor, which is time-consuming and costly. Therefore, the possibility to assess their performance in laboratory before manufacturing a full tyre appears very ...

Developing Soft Interconnected Microchannel Network for 2D Skin‐Like Actuator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A soft interconnected network of microchannels is proposed to develop new pneumatic actuators for future bio‐inspired soft robots. Simultaneous stimulation of this network generates regional asymmetric strains in walls of microchannels whose interaction across the entire surface leads to bending curvatures in multidimensions.

A Thickness‐Invariant Origami Robot With Integrated Actuation and Multimodal Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A thickness‐invariant variation on the Yoshimura origami pattern is used as the basis of a robot, allowing power, actuation, and control systems to be embedded within the thickened panels of the pattern. The robot uses multiple kinematic branches to achieve distinct modes of locomotion, such as walking, running, galloping, and turning. ABSTRACT Origami
