Multiwavelength Study of Equatorial Coronal-hole Jets [PDF]
Abstract Jets (transient/collimated plasma ejections) occur frequently throughout the solar corona and contribute mass/energy to the corona and solar wind. By combining numerical simulations and high-resolution observations, we have made substantial progress recently on determining the energy buildup and release processes in these jets ...

The Fine-scale Structure of Polar Coronal Holes
Coronal holes are thought to be composed of relatively broad columnar structures known as plumes. Here, we demonstrate that the plumes (and interplumes) in polar coronal holes are composed of fine-scale filamentary structure, with average scales of 2″–10″

Topologically driven coronal dynamics – a mechanism for coronal hole jets [PDF]
Abstract. Bald patches are magnetic topologies in which the magnetic field is concave up over part of a photospheric polarity inversion line. A bald patch topology is believed to be the essential ingredient for filament channels and is often found in extrapolations of the observed photospheric field.

Coronal Hole Properties Observed with SUMER
We analyze SUMER spectra of 14 lines belonging to 12 ions, obtained on both sides of the boundary of polar coronal holes as well as at other locations along the limb. We compare line intensities, shifts and widths in coronal holes with values obtained in the quiet Sun.

Coronal holes and solar-terrestrial relationships
En este trabajo se discute el papel que juegan los hoyos coronales del Sol en las perturbaciones del viento solar y en las alteraciones del ambiente terrestre.

Estimating Ion Temperatures at the Polar Coronal Hole Boundary
The temperatures of the heavy ions ( T _i ) in the solar corona provide critical information about the heating mechanism of the million-degree corona.

This is an attempt to identify the causes of geomagnetic storms which occurred during a year and a half from January 1977 to June 1978. The assignment of geomagnetic storm causation to appropriate coronal holes or solar flares has been made by ...

Comparison of solar radio and EUV synoptic limb charts during the present solar maximum [PDF]
The present solar cycle is particular in many aspects: it had a delayed rising phase, it is the weakest of the last 100 years, and it presents two peaks separated by more than one year.

Chromosphere Activity Relation with Solar Dynamo Magnetic Activity Cycle [PDF]
In this article, we analyzed the abnormal thickness of the chromosphere above the coronal holes (CH) at the poles of the Sun for 13 years (2010-2022), on the 15th of every month, by using AIA/SDO telescope data.

Low-latitude coronal holes, decaying active regions and global coronal magnetic structure [PDF]
We study the relationship between decaying active region magnetic fields, coronal holes and the global coronal magnetic structure using Global Oscillations Network Group (GONG) synoptic magnetograms, Solar Terrestrial RElations Observatory (STEREO ...
