Femtosecond laser filament guided negative coronas
We report on the experimental investigation of femtosecond laser filament guided negative coronas. When the coupling between the filament and negative corona was weak, the side fluorescence spectral analysis confirmed the existence of impact ionization ...

We introduce a new invariant, the coronal of a graph, and use it to compute the spectrum of the corona $G\circ H$ of two graphs $G$ and $H$. In particular, we show that this spectrum is completely determined by the spectra of $G$ and $H$ and the coronal of $H$. Previous work has computed the spectrum of a corona only in the case that $H$ is regular. We

A Pragmatic Perspective of the Antibacterial Properties of Metal-Based Nanoparticles
A consideration of the antibacterial efficacy of metal-based nanoparticles, from the point of view of their physicochemical properties, suggests that such efficacy arises from the protein coronas that form around them, and that the contents of the ...

The last two decades have seen the emergence of a new field in stellar astrophysics, the study of stellar coronae mostly in X-ray domain. With the advent of soft X-ray imagery X-ray emission was found from many thousands of solar-like stars. I will summarize the most important findings of X-ray surveys of late type stars and put the results in the ...

On a generalization of the corona problem [PDF]
Let g, f1, …, fm ∈ H∞(Δ). We provide conditions on f1, …, fm in order that |g(z)| ≤ |f1(z)| + …+|fm(z)|, for all z in Δ, imply that g, or g2, belong to the ideal generated by f1, …, fm in H∞.

Evidence of a largely staminal origin for the Jaltomata calliantha (Solanaceae) floral corona
Background Understanding the evolution of novel features requires homology assessments at different levels of biological organization. In flowering plants, floral coronas that play various roles in plant–pollinator interactions have evolved multiple ...
