Lowest-order relativistic corrections to the fundamental limits of nonlinear-optical coefficients
The effects of small relativistic corrections to the off-resonant polarizability, hyperpolarizability, and second hyperpolarizability are investigated.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

A maximum-likelihood method for improving faint source flux and color estimates
Flux estimates for faint sources or transients are systematically biased high because there are far more truly faint sources than bright. Corrections which account for this effect are presented as a function of signal-to-noise ratio and the (true) slope ...

W-boson production with large transverse momentum at the LHC [PDF]
We study W-boson production with large transverse momentum, Q_T, in pp collisions at the LHC. We calculate the complete NLO corrections and the soft-gluon NNLO corrections to the differential cross section.

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

EVALUATION OF THE QUALITY OF WHEAT WITH ADDED IMPROVERS
One of the main indicators of quality of grain flours is the enzyme content. The most important enzymes on the wheat flour are the a - amylase and the b - amylase.

Electroweak radiative corrections to single Higgs-boson production in e+e- annihilation [PDF]
We have calculated the complete electroweak O(alpha) radiative corrections to the single Higgs-boson production processes e+ e- --> nu_l anti-nu_l H (l=e,mu,tau) in the electroweak Standard Model.

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

The Electronic Monitoring Paradigm: A Proposal for Transforming Criminal Justice in the USA
This article proposes a change in public policy that promises to greatly reduce major crime in the United States, protect society, eliminate prison overcrowding, and save taxpayer dollars. This policy would employ electronic monitoring (EM) technology in

Quasiparticle transport equation with collision delay. II. Microscopic Theory
For a system of non-interacting electrons scattered by neutral impurities, we derive a modified Boltzmann equation that includes quasiparticle and virial corrections.
