Generating non-uniformly correlated twisted sources

Optics Letters, 2021
The inverse method of proving the twistability of cross-spectral density (CSD) inevitably falls into spontaneous difficulties. Based on a nonnegative self-consistent design guideline for generating genuine CSDs introduced by Gori and Santarsiero, we demonstrate a feasible way for twisting partially coherent sources by sticking a Schell-model function ...

Sources of correlation degradation

Applied Optics, 1977
Various sources of degradation of the peak intensity and SNR of an output optical correlation are considered both theoretically and experimentally. Several methods for limiting the effect of these sources of degradation are also advanced, and experimental and theoretical data are presented.

Correlated sources with actions

2013 51st Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing (Allerton), 2013
In this paper, we consider the problem of distributed compression of correlated sources with action-dependent joint distribution. This setup is an extension of the Slepian Wolf model, but where actions taken by the encoder or the decoder and affect the generation of one of the sources.

Spectral shifts produced by source correlations

Optics Letters, 1987
The spectrum of light emitted by a partially coherent source depends on the degree of spectral coherence across the source. Wolf1 has shown that, if the degree of spectral coherence at the source satisfies a certain scaling law, the normalized spectrum of light is the same throughout the far zone and is equal to the normalized spectrum at the source ...

Reference Encoding of Correlated Digital Sources

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1978
A reference code, with an associated bound on the code rate, for the encoding of correlated digital sources is introduced. The reference code is adaptive and simple to implement. Image coding results obtained using concatenated trellis and reference encoding are presented.
