Successive Coding of Correlated Sources

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2007
The rate-distortion (RD) problem for two-layer coding of a pair (X,Y) of correlated sources is considered. The first layer information enables reconstruction of X within a certain distortion DX, while reception of both layers additionally enables reconstruction of Y within distortion DY.

Message authentication with correlated sources

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2015
In this paper, we study the problem of message authentication with two correlated sources observed by the legitimate transmitter and receiver as secret information. We consider an active adversary capable of the impersonation attack and the substitution attack.

Index coding over correlated sources

2015 International Symposium on Network Coding (NetCod), 2015
One of the promising architectures for the next generation of content distribution networks is the “cache network”, where each node has cache or local storage. We consider the index coding problem, where a central content server disseminates compressed multiple content data to each client that recovers the target content using the cached content, as ...

Sequential coding of correlated sources

Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2000
Summary: We study a generalization of the successive refinement coding problem called the sequential coding of correlated sources. In successive refinement source coding, one first describes the given source using a few bits of information and then subsequently improves the description of the same source when more information is supplied.

Internetworking using interframe source correlation

Proceedings of GLOBECOM 95 GLOCOM-95, 1995
A new packet forwarding scheme for (LAN) internetworking devices is proposed to take advantage of temporal locality in the network traffic. This scheme exploits the correlated nature of frame arrivals and makes forwarding decisions based on the time gap between arriving and departing frames.

Predictive coding of correlated sources

Manufacturing Engineer, 2005
A lossy coding scheme is proposed for separate encoding and joint decoding of two correlated sequences. The algorithm simultaneously exploits the correlation between the sequences (using a binning-based quantization scheme) and that between the samples of each sequence (using linear prediction).

Source Characterization By Correlation Techniques

2002
The use of correlation techniques provides a vital tool in understanding and characterizing mechanisms of flow induced sound and vibration. This chapter outlines the basic mathematical relations used in the derivation of such techniques, introducing fundamental quantities such as the cross-correlation function and coherence function.

Infrasound source localization and correlation with seismic sources

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America
Infrasound is widely used as a geophysical monitoring tool to detect and locate events of interest. Direct infrasound from atmospheric pressure disturbances can propagate long distances, allowing for reliable source localization. Infrasound can also be generated by underground sources which generally produce seismic waves in the solid Earth ...
