Partial Block Scheme and Adaptive Update Model for Kernelized Correlation Filters-Based Object Tracking

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
In visual object tracking, the dynamic environment is a challenging issue. Partial occlusion and scale variation are typical challenging problems. We present a correlation-based object tracking based on the discriminative model.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Future instrumentation and missions for measurements of tropospheric trace species from space: Workshop recommendations [PDF]

open access: yes
It was recommended that gas filter correlation radiometry and high-resolution interferometry be exploited and expanded for measurements of the distribution of tropospheric trace gases. Instruments and missions were identified and discussed.

Study of non-linear viscoelastic behavior of the human red blood cell [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The non-linear behavior of human erythrocytes subjected to shear stress was analyzed using data series from the Erythrocyte Rheometer and a theoretical model was developed.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

The Intranational Business Cycle: Evidence from Japan [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies the intranational business cycle -that is the set of regional (prefecture) business cycles- in Japan. One reason for choosing to examine the Japanese case is that long time series and relatively detailed data are available.
