Correlations [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2009
Correlations of equity returns have varied substantially over time and remain a source of continuing policy debate. This paper studies stock market correlations in an equilibrium model with heterogeneous risk aversion. In the model, preference heterogeneity causes variations in the volatility of aggregate risk aversion from good to bad states.

Correlated Initialization for Correlated Data [PDF]

open access: yesNeural Processing Letters, 2022
Spatial data exhibits the property that nearby points are correlated. This also holds for learnt representations across layers, but not for commonly used weight initialization methods. Our theoretical analysis quantifies the learning behavior of weights of a single spatial filter.

Spatial Correlation for Correlated Scatterers [PDF]

open access: yes2006 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speed and Signal Processing Proceedings, 2006
This paper investigates the correlations between sensor signals in multipath environments created by correlated scatterers. We derive a closed form expression for the correlation in fields created by arbitrary scatterer correlations and scatterer powers, using Fourier techniques, and propose reasonable function forms for scatterer correlation ...

Density Functional Theory Approach to the Vibrational Properties and Magnetic Specific Heat of the Covalent Chain Antiferromagnet KFeS2

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Ternary potassium-iron sulfide, KFeS2, belongs to the family of highly anisotropic quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnets with unusual “anti-Curie–Weiss” susceptibility, quasi-linearly growing with a rising temperature up to 700 K, an almost vanishing ...

Dielectric properties of complex magnetic field induced states in PbCuSO4(OH)2

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Spin spirals, which coexist with collinear spin order in linarite PbCuSO4(OH)2, indicate electrical polarisation textures of spin-multipolar phases. We derive experimental evidence by a detailed investigation of the magnetic-field dependent dielectric ...

Study of the effect of higher-order dispersions on photoionisation induced by ultrafast laser pulses applying a classical theoretical method

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
We investigated the effect of higher order dispersion on ultrafast photoionisation with Classical Trajectory Monte Carlo (CTMC) method for hydrogen and krypton atoms.

Correlation clustering [PDF]

open access: yesThe 43rd Annual IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science, 2002. Proceedings., 2003
We consider the following clustering problem: we have a complete graph on n vertices (items), where each edge (u, v) is labeled either + or – depending on whether u and v have been deemed to be similar or different. The goal is to produce a partition of the vertices (a clustering) that agrees as much as possible with the edge labels. That is, we want a

Dielectric Properties of 3D Printed Polylactic Acid

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
3D printers constitute a fast-growing worldwide market. These printers are often employed in research and development fields related to engineering or architecture, especially for structural components or rapid prototyping.
