The Effect of Temperature on the Corrosion-Erosion of 9CR1MO Steel

CORROSION 1985, 1985
Abstract The effect of test temperature on the nature of the scale formation and the substrate metal thickness loss by combined erosion-corrosion was determined for 9Cr1Mo steel at temperatures up to 900°C in air and undried nitrogen gas streams containing 130μm Al2O3 particles.

Corrosion-Erosion Rates/Mechanisms of 9Cr1Mo Steel

CORROSION 1985, 1985
Abstract The combined erosion-corrosion behavior of 9Cr1Mo steel was investigated at 850°C at an impingement angle of α=30° in an oxidizing atmosphere. The study was undertaken to provide knowledge for the understanding of the behavior of this alloy in such applications as fluidized bed combustors.

A Concept of Thrombolysis as a Corrosion–Erosion Process Verified by Optical Microscopy

Microcirculation, 2012
Please cite this paper as: Bajd F, Serša I. A concept of thrombolysis as a corrosion–erosion process verified by optical microscopy. Microcirculation 19: 632–641, 2012.AbstractObjective:  Outcome of the thrombolytic treatment is dependent on biochemical reactions of the fibrinolytic system as well as on hemodynamic conditions. However, understanding of

Non Intrusive Corrosion-Erosion Monitoring for Subsea Applications

SPE International Conference & Workshop on Oilfield Corrosion, 2012
Abstract The oil and gas industry has a need for reliable monitoring of changes in wall thickness both topside and subsea. It is important to detect and monitor the effect of corrosion and erosion as this may reduce the life-cycle cost and increase the lifetime of industrial infrastructure, ships, aircrafts, ground vehicles, pipelines ...

Upstream Digital Transformation through Corrosion, Erosion, and Sand Monitoring

CORROSION 2021, 2021
Abstract Corrosion and erosion are undesirable by-products of Oil & Gas extraction activities, and one of the main concerns of production engineers. Gravel pack, sand screens, as well as costly chemical injection interventions require investments worth millions of dollars.

Corrosion-Erosion of Boiler Feed Pumps and Regulating Valves

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1947
Abstract Seven 500-hr corrosion-erosion tests, involving a total of eighteen different materials, were conducted at the Marysville power plant of The Detroit Edison Company to determine the resistance of these materials to the corrosion-erosion type of attack experienced in boiler feed pumps and regulating valves. Two of these tests were

Rotary kiln corrosion-erosion-resistant linings

Refractories and Industrial Ceramics, 2008
The properties of magnesia refractories are studied with the aim of determining the possibility of their use for lining rotary kilns. Periclase-chromite refractory PKhPP has been developed with an increased Cr2O3 content, whose use combined with a laying cement, operating by the principle of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, in a developed ...

Corrosion–erosion wear of refractory bricks in glass furnaces

Engineering Failure Analysis, 2014
Abstract This paper presents the failure analysis of alumina–zirconia–silica (AZS) refractory bricks located in the glass level in the tank of a furnace for melting glass, since is the region where there is greater wear respect to the base. The wear of the refractory was evaluated after 4 years of campaigning, under thermal and mechanical loading ...
