Stress corrosion initiated cracking of concrete
Cement and Concrete Research, 1986Abstract The simultaneous action of corrosive media and mechanical stresses on concrete leads to stress corrosion cracking phenomena. The flexural strength of mortar specimens in sulfate-solutions has been found to depend significantly on the external load being applied during the sulfate-solution exposure of the specimens.

A study of corrosion initiation on polyimide coatings
Corrosion Science, 1992Abstract The protective properties of thin polyimide (PI) films on aluminum and iron metallic substrates were studied using a.c. and d.c. electrochemical techniques. The effects of storage time, film thickness, and the synergistic effect of temperature (80°C) and relative humidity (85%) on the lifetime of the PI were investigated.

Initial stages of glass corrosion in water
1990Soda-lime-silica glass samples with fresh fracture surfaces were treated in H2O, D2O, H218O, and D218O for 15, 30, 60, and 120 min at 60 and 85 °C. The leached layers were analyzed by NPB-SIMS, a technique which avoids surface charging by using neutral primary particles.
