A new species of Aureonarius (Cortinariaceae, Agaricales) from Southwestern China

Phytotaxa
The genus Aureonarius belongs to the family Cortinariaceae. In this study, phylogenetic inferences of Aureonarius were conducted based on sequences from a multi-locus dataset (ITS, nrLSU, RPB1, RPB2). A new species of Aureonarius discovered in Yunnan province of China was described based on morphological and molecular evidence.

Web caps Cortinarius and Phlegmacium (Agaricales, Cortinariaceae) in Svalbard and on Bear Island

AGARICA
We identified 33 species of the old genus Cortinarius s. lat. (web caps) from Svalbard and Bear Island based on collections from the fungaria in Oslo (O) and Tromsø (TROM) and recently collected material (afterwards kept in O). Morphological and molecular methods, i.e., ITS barcoding, were employed.

Thaxterogaster laojunensis sp. nov. (Cortinariaceae) from Southwestern China

Phytotaxa
A new species, Thaxterogaster laojunensis, collected in the Laojun Mountains, Yunnan Province, China, is proposed based on morphological characteristic comparison and phylogenetic analyses of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and the large subunit rRNA (nrLSU).

New Cortinariaceae species associated with Dicymbe, Aldina , and Pakaraimaea in Guyana

Mycologia
Species of the ectomycorrhizal (ECM) family Cortinariaceae (Agaricales, Agaricomycetes, Basidiomycota) have long been considered impoverished or absent from lowland tropical rainforests. Several decades of collecting in forests dominated by ECM trees in South America's Guiana Shield is countering this view, with discovery of numerous Cortinariaceae ...

Mycelial morphology, rhizomorph anatomy and primordium formation ofGymnopiluspenetrans (Cortinariaceae, Basidiomycetes)

Feddes Repertorium, 2002
Gymnopilus penetrans (morphologically distinct from G. sapineus) grows well on the usual culture media in Petri dishes and forms arthroconidia in slimy droplets. Dense mycelial mounds reminiscent of the dense mycelial plugs observed in the natural substrate (decaying wood of Fagus sylvatica) develop in some cultures but fail to produce noduli and ...
