Immune Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura Following Trimethoprim Sulfamethoxazole Reexposure: A Case Report

ABSTRACT An 85‐year‐old man developed acute neurologic dysfunction, severe thrombocytopenia, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, and ADAMTS13 activity of 4.6% after TMP‐SMX reexposure. Seven plasma‐exchange sessions plus corticosteroids produced rapid recovery.

Pangenome of Streptomyces sampsonii and Relatives Highlights Horizontal Gene Transfer and Secondary Metabolism in Environmental Adaptation and Ecological Significance

This study presents a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Streptomyces sampsonii and a pangenome analysis of 95 strains, revealing a highly expansive “open” pangenome. Our results highlight that horizontal gene transfer (HGT) and accessory gene variations drive the evolution of secondary metabolism and environmental adaptation.
