Editorial: Geospace Observation of Natural Hazards [PDF]
This collection of technical papers aims to bring recent data from many sources into the study of natural hazards. They represent a multi-instrumental approach using both ground observations: Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS); and Low Earth ...

The molecular genetics of RASopathies: An update on novel disease genes and new disorders
Abstract Enhanced signaling through RAS and the mitogen‐associated protein kinase (MAPK) cascade underlies the RASopathies, a family of clinically related disorders affecting development and growth. In RASopathies, increased RAS‐MAPK signaling can result from the upregulated activity of various RAS GTPases, enhanced function of proteins positively ...

Comparison of different machine learning approaches for tropospheric profiling based on COSMIC-2 data [PDF]
AbstractPrecise and reliable information on the tropospheric temperature and water vapor profiles play a key role in weather and climate studies. Among the sensors supporting the observations of the troposphere, one can distinguish the Global Navigation Satellite System Radio Occultation (RO) technique, which provides accurate and high-quality ...

The surface density of Extremely Red Objects in high-z quasar fields [PDF]
We report on a study of the surface density of Extremely Red Objects (EROs) in the fields of 13 radio-loud quasars at 1.8 < z < 3.0 covering a total area of 61.7 sqr arcmin.

X-ray Emission Processes in Extragalactic Jets, Lobes and Hot Spots [PDF]
This paper is a brief review of the processes responsible for X-ray emission from radio jets, lobes and hot spots. Possible photons in inverse Compton scattering models include the radio synchrotron radiation itself (i.e.

Optimal Estimation Inversion of Ionospheric Electron Density from GNSS-POD Limb Measurements: Part I-Algorithm and Morphology [PDF]
GNSS-LEO radio links from Precise Orbital Determination (POD) and Radio Occultation (RO) antennas have been used increasingly in characterizing the global 3D distribution and variability of ionospheric electron density (Ne).

HESS J1702-420 is a multi-TeV gamma-ray source with an unusual energy-dependent morphology. The recent H.E.S.S. observations suggest that the emission is well described by a combination of the point-like HESS J1702-420A (dominating at highest energies ...

Vacuum Fluctuations of a massless spin-1/2 field around multiple cosmic strings [PDF]
We study the interaction of a massless quantized spinor field with the gravitational filed of N parallel static cosmic strings by using a perturbative approach.

On the lithium abundance of the visual binary components ξ Boo A (G8V) and ξ Boo B (K5V)
Abstract A spectroscopic investigation of the lithium resonance doublet in ξ Boo A and ξ Boo B in terms of both abundance and isotopic ratio is presented. We obtained new R = 130,000 spectra with a signal‐to‐noise ratio (S/N) per pixel of up to 3200 using the 11.8 m LBT and PEPSI.
