Decoding Tattoo and Permanent Makeup Pigments: Linking Physicochemical Properties to Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Elimination Profiles Using Quantitative Structure–Activity Relationship (QSAR)‐Based New Approach Methodologies (NAMs)

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This study applies QSAR‐based new approach methodologies to 90 synthetic tattoo and permanent makeup pigments, revealing systemic links between their physicochemical properties and absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination profiles. The correlation‐driven analysis using SwissADME, ChemBCPP, and principal component analysis uncovers insights

Non-Gaussian Minkowski functionals & extrema counts in redshift space

open access: yes, 2014
In the context of upcoming large-scale structure surveys such as Euclid, it is of prime importance to quantify the effect of peculiar velocities on geometric probes.

On the Prospects for African Philosophy in Australia

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper grapples with the situation of people of African descent in Australia by working through the constitution of the body of academic philosophy in the country. It contends with the parochialism of the Australian philosophical community and the prospects for the cultivation of greater pluralism. Taking African philosophy as one possible

Constraints on a Vacuum Energy from Both SNIa and CMB Temperature Observations

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, 2012
We investigate the cosmic thermal evolution with a vacuum energy which decays into photon at the low redshift. We assume that the vacuum energy is a function of the scale factor that increases toward the early universe.

Constraining the expansion history of the universe from the red shift evolution of cosmic shear

open access: yes, 2010
We present a quantitative analysis of the constraints on the total equation of state parameter that can be obtained from measuring the red shift evolution of the cosmic shear.

Sitting in Many Camps—Innovative Approaches and Methods for First Nations‐Led Research Into Indigenous Peacebuilding

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In 2021, a desktop review was conducted of published references to First Nations peoples' approaches to conflict and its management in Australia (Project Stage One), culminating in a report published in 2024. This article focuses on Project Stage Two, a complex, innovative research undertaking building on the findings of Stage One, and being ...

Time Dilation Observed in Type Ia Supernova Light Curves and Its Cosmological Consequences

open access: yesGalaxies
The cosmic time dilation observed in Type Ia supernova light curves suggests that the passage of cosmic time varies throughout the evolution of the Universe.

Molecular characterization of the A52 murine hepatocellular carcinoma cell line

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a poor outcome cancer with limited therapeutic choices. To advance therapeutic development we genetically characterized the A52 murine HCC cell line. We noted genetic changes that match a subset of human HCC and this offers the opportunity to test novel targeted therapies in syngeneic mice.

Minimalist Footwear Acutely Alters Running Kinematics in Runners With Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome

open access: yesArthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Purpose To assess immediate biomechanical changes in runners with medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS) when transitioning from standard to minimalist running shoes. Methods Active runners diagnosed with MTSS ran on a treadmill at 10 km/h using standard and minimalist running shoes. Hip, knee, and ankle joint kinematics were captured using a 16‐infrared‐

Strings after D-term inflation: evolution and properties of chiral cosmic strings

open access: yes, 2000
We motivate the study of chiral cosmic strings through a scenario of structure formation which mixes D-term inflation and strings. We then discuss some properties of chiral cosmic strings, and results regarding their evolution and possible cosmological ...
