7000 Years of Aboriginal Mining at Sugarloaf Hill in the Riverland Region of South Australia
ABSTRACT Silcrete and chert are commonly represented in Aboriginal archaeological lithic assemblages across large parts of the southwestern Murray‐Darling Basin (MDB). In South Australia (SA), these materials were sourced from a series of quarries located along the incised course of the Murray River through the upper Riverland region.

The THESEUS Space Mission and the Infrared Telescope Calibration Unit
ABSTRACT The Transient High‐Energy Sky and Early Universe Surveyor (THESEUS) is an ESA M7 mission concept currently in Phase A, designed to exploit gamma‐ray bursts to probe the early Universe while advancing multi‐messenger and time‐domain astrophysics. To achieve its ambitious goals, THESEUS will combine wide‐band x‐ray and gamma‐ray monitors with an

Cosmic Ray Astrophysics using The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) Observatory in México
The High-Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) TeV gamma–ray Observatory in México is ready to search and study gamma-ray emission regions, extremely high-energy cosmic-ray sources, and to identify transient phenomena.

Galactic Superaccreting X-Ray Binaries as Super-PeVatron Accelerators
The extension of the cosmic-ray (CR) spectrum well beyond 1 PeV necessitates the existence of a population of accelerators in the Milky Way, which we refer to as super-PeVatrons. Identifying the nature of these sources remains a challenge to the paradigm

ABSTRACT The goal of this study is to confirm the feasibility of the use of digitized low dispersive MtWilson Michigan Southern Sky Hα$$ \alpha $$ survey astronomical photographic plates for modern astrophysical research. The detection of highly redshifted objects, such as early galaxies and quasars, is fundamental to understanding the universe's ...

We report 13 years of Chandra monitoring of the youngest Galactic supernova remnant G1.9+0.3, the only remnant known to be increasing in brightness. We confirm the spatially integrated rate of flux increase of (1.2 ± 0.2)% yr ^−1 (1–7 keV), but find ...

Unveiling the Nature of Galactic TeV Sources with IceCube Results
IceCube collaboration reported the first high-significance observation of the neutrino emission from the Galactic disk. The observed signal can be due to diffuse emission produced by cosmic rays interacting with interstellar gas but can also arise from a

The cosmic ray energy spectrum is calculated assuming that cosmic rays are generated by astrophysical objects provided by magnetospheres with a dipole magnetic field. With simple geometric considerations, the energy spectrum E-2.5 is obtained, independently on the particle species.

Isotopic composition of cosmic-ray sources
We use the GALPROP code and the Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) data to derive the cosmic ray (CR) isotopic composition at the sources. The composition is derived for two propagation models, diffusive reacceleration and plain diffusion. We show that the compositions derived assuming these two propagation models are different.

Bioactive Magnesium Silicate Activating Myocardial Energy Metabolism For Infarcted Myocardium Repair
ABSTRACT The heart is a highly energy‐dependent organ, developing bioenergy‐activating biomaterials to activate myocardial adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production and restore dysregulated energy homeostasis is a promising solution for its functional recovery.
