Watermelon genotype‐independent transformation via direct organogenesis from the cotyledon base
Inducing adventitious buds from the base of watermelon cotyledon through direct organogenesis resulted in a watermelon genetic transformation system that overcomes regeneration barriers and genotype limitations.

Utilization Of Nitrogen Sources By Immature Soybean Cotyledons In Culture
Immature Glycine max (L.) Merrill cotyledons were cultured in a defined medium containing different nitrogen sources. Glutamine was the most efficient source in terms of protein accumulation in the cotyledons.

Background and aims – Large cotyledonary reserves are plant adaptations to tolerate elevated herbivory during the recruitment phase. Oak seedlings have large cotyledons that promote epicotyl resprouting after it is browsed by herbivores.

Artefact‐aware Brillouin microscopy framework for root mechanical phenotyping
Abstract Plant roots continuously sense and respond to the mechanical signals of their growth environment: root cap function, mucilage secretion, and hormonal regulation jointly adapt root tip mechanics, shaping whether roots penetrate compacted layers or reorient around obstacles. Most current measurements of root mechanical properties require removal

Seed isoflavone content is influenced by environment and genotype, but seed fractions such as hypocotyls and cotyledons display highly contrasted isoflavone contents and compositions. Moreover, the isoflavone content of hypocotyls appears less influenced

Phenotypic plasticity is broadly adaptive across an elevation gradient in the Cutleaf Monkeyflower
Leaf shape plasticity expression is variable in Mimulus laciniatus. Summary Phenotypic plasticity is a key mechanism by which organisms cope with environmental heterogeneity, but its evolutionary consequences depend on how plastic responses align with the broader adaptive landscape.

Natural variation of flowering time correlates with FvFT1 and FvTFL1 expression in European Fragaria vesca accessions. Summary Photoperiod is a stable seasonal signal. Although photoperiodic flowering is well understood in short‐day (SD) and long‐day (LD) annual plants, the regulatory mechanisms in perennials remain elusive.
