We study interacting GaAs bilayer hole systems, with very small interlayer tunneling, in a counterflow geometry where equal currents are passed in opposite directions in the two, independently contacted layers.

Counterflows in viscous electron-hole fluid [PDF]
In ultra-pure conductors, collective motion of charge carriers at relatively high temperatures may become hydrodynamic such that electronic transport may be described similarly to a viscous flow.

Abstract The Late Cretaceous Oman ophiolite includes a series of volcanic rocks generated during the transition from spreading ridge to protoarc associated with subduction initiation. We analyzed major and trace elements and Sr, Nd, and Pb isotope compositions of lavas and dikes of the protoarc stage, especially boninites. We also analyzed amphibolites

Diffusion of an Inhomogeneous Vortex Tangle
The spatial diffusion of an inhomogeneous vortex tangle is studied numerically with the vortex filament model. A localized initial tangle is prepared by applying a counterflow, and the tangle is allowed to diffuse freely after the counterflow is turned ...

The chemical recycling of polylactide (PLA), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and polycaprolactone (PCL) is performed using bisguanidine organocatalysts. Intensive kinetic studies of the methanolysis and ethanolysis of PLA were performed. The most active organocatalyst was successfully applied in the depolymerization of ternary plastic mixes of PLA ...

Instability of vortex array and transitions to turbulent states in rotating helium II
We consider superfluid helium inside a container which rotates at constant angular velocity and investigate numerically the stability of the array of quantized vortices in the presence of an imposed axial counterflow.

Experimental measurements reveal distinct performance boundaries: TMM achieves rapid convergence (< 2 dB error below 2000 Hz) but neglects 3D wave effects; FEA maintains < 10% deviation up to 3500 Hz with 90% reduced computational cost versus CFD; while transient CFD captures broadband attenuation trends despite 10× higher resource demands.

Development and Automation of Microturbulence Intensifying Systems and Biosynthesis Conditions in Bioreactors [PDF]
Results of the investigation applying newly developed methods: a Stirring Intensity Measuring Device (SIMD), a counterflow mixing system, identification of the state of turbohypobiosis, counterflow bioreactor's design and a process controller BIO-3 have ...
