Stress and couple stress in foams
Computational Materials Science, 2003Abstract Even in the range of small elastic deformations the behavior of foams is not well described by only two elastic constants. Usually the manufacturers give values of the material parameters depending on the loading conditions. This problem is investigated on a microscopic scale by a simple beam model. It has been found that this approach shows

The primary objective of the study was to increase understanding of interpersonal dimensions of stress and coping within married couples. Our sample included 82 couples living in a stepfamily context. Data were collected using structured telephone interviews and twice-daily questionnaires for a period of 1 week.

Forces and Couples, Stress and Couple Stress Tensors in Micropolar Continua
2012In this chapter using the balance of momentum and balance of moment of momentum (Euler’s laws of motion) we introduce the stress and couple stress tensors. Then we derive the motion equations of the micropolar continuum which contains the motion equations of simple (non-polar) continuum as a special case.
