Design Methodology for Coupled Inductors Aimed at Reducing Leakage Inductance, Proximity Effect, and Electromagnetic Interference in Quasi-Resonant Flyback LED Drivers

open access: yesEletrônica de Potência
This paper presents a comprehensive study on the influence of winding geometry on leakage inductance and proximity effect losses in coupled inductors applied to quasi-resonant flyback converters for LED drivers.

Modeling a Coupled-Inductor Boost Converter in the Complementarity Framework

open access: yes2012 Sixth UKSim/AMSS European Symposium on Computer Modeling and Simulation, 2012
We consider the modeling of switching circuits, consisting of passive elements, independent sources, which are subject both to externally induced switches (time events) and to state events. We focus on the use of the complementarity formalism for obtaining such hybrid (actually piecewise linear) models, assuming idealized current- voltage ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

The effects of coupled inductors in parallel interleaved buck converters

open access: yes, 2003
Interleaved switching and coupled inductors are proven methods for reducing DC-DC converter output ripple. This paper furthers discussions of these techniques to arrangements of many buck converters connected in parallel.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Inductor-coupled KY boost converter

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2010
A KY boost converter with coupled inductors is presented. The voltage conversion ratio is greater than that of the KY boost converter. Hence, this converter is very suitable for high step-up voltage applications. A detailed description of the proposed converter is presented along with a simple mathematical deduction and some experimental results.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Bolts connection technique of bamboo in construction work

open access: yes, 2017
The construction industry is increasingly developing and growing rapidly with more advanced technologies. The world timber demand is increasing at a rapid rate but the timber supply is however depleting. It has been found through research that bamboo can
