A submillimetre wavelength spectral line search of the Orion molecular cloud core [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
A submillimetre wavelength molecular line search of the Orion molecular cloud has been made covering a total of about 5 percent of the frequency range 342.8 - 358.6 GHz.

Magnetic correlations on the full chains of Ortho-II YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{6.5}$

open access: yes, 2008
We propose that the NMR line shape on the chain Cu in the stoichiometric high-$T_c$ superconductor Ortho-II YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{6.5}$ is determined by the magnetization induced on Cu near O vacancies, due to strong magnetic correlations in the chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Nonsingular Green’s Functions for Multi-Layer Homogeneous Microstrip Lines

open access: yesIranian Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2013
In this article, three new green's functions are presented for a narrow strip line (not a thin wire) inside or on a homogeneous dielectric, supposing quasi-TEM dominant mode.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Compact Broadband High-Directivity Microstrip Directional Coupler

open access: yesJournal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications
The difference between phase velocities of the odd and even modes in inhomogeneous microstrip coupled lines makes the microstrip directional coupler a poor device regarding directivity. In this work, this issue is successfully compensated by the addition

"Ideal" optical delay lines based on tailored-coupling and reflecting, coupled-resonator optical waveguides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a design of "ideal" optical delay lines (i.e., constant amplitude and constant group delay over the desired bandwidth). They are based on reflection from coupled-resonator optical waveguides (CROWs).

Monopole Percolation in the Compact Abelian Higgs Model

open access: yes, 1997
We have studied the monopole-percolation phenomenon in the four dimensional Abelian theory that contains compact U(1) gauge fields coupled to unitary norm Higgs fields.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
