On the applicability of conventional transmission line theory within cavities [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Radio Science, 2006
We investigate whether or not conventional transmission line theory needs to be modified if transmission lines are considered that are located in a cavity rather than in free space.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Modelling and analysis of crosstalk in scaled CMOS interconnects [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The development of a general coupled RLC interconnect model for simulating scaled bus structures m VLSI is presented. Several different methods for extracting submicron resistance, inductance and capacitance parameters are documented.

New Wafer-Level High-Frequency Characterization of Coupled Transmission Lines

open access: yes, 2019
In this article, a new experimental characterization technique for coupled transmission lines is presented. Three specific experimental test patterns (E-, F-, and G-type structures) that can individually characterize the electromagnetic coupling of two ...

Electrical Modelling of Multilevel On-Chip Interconnections for High-Speed Integrated Circuits

open access: yesActive and Passive Electronic Components, 1992
A method for the electrical parameters analysis and modelling of lossy-coupled multilayer on-chip interconnection lines at high bit rates is presented in detail. It can be used by the VLSI designer to analyze on-chip interconnections with linear, as well

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Crosstalk analysis of multi‐microstrip coupled lines using transmission line modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This article presents a new analytical method to predict crosstalk of a homogeneous terminated two microstrip coupled lines over a ground plane using transmission line theory.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.
