Identification of dominant characteristics in the coupled structural-acoustic system using a transmissibility

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
With the development of box structure like a car or plane, noise reduction technology is required. For interior noise reduction, it is necessary to identify a resonance mode which is affected by the acoustic characteristics. Meanwhile, noise problem with

On the Coupling of Hull Vibration and Bottom Vibration of Ships

open access: yesJournal of Zosen Kiokai, 1965
To make clear the nature of hull vibration of higher mode it is indispensable to investigate the problem of the coupling of hull vibration and local vibration of ships. This problem was investigated already by Prof. Watanabe, Dr. Suetsugu and others in connection with the causes of the stern vibration of ships.

Dissimilar Dynamics of Coupled Water Vibrations [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2009
Dissimilar dynamics of coupled stretch vibrations of a water molecule are revealed by two-dimensional IR correlation spectroscopy. These are caused by essentially non-Gaussian fluctuations of the electric field exerted by the environment on the individual OH stretch vibrations.

Coupling analysis and vibration control of vehicle vertical vibration and pitching vibration

open access: yesSN Applied Sciences, 2023
AbstractThe decoupling analysis of vertical vibration and pitching vibration is the basis of improving vehicle comfort performance and realizing vehicle body vibration control. In order to study the coupling behavior of vehicle body vibration, the vibration characteristics of the suspension and the body are analyzed through mathematical modeling and ...

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Influence of analysis modeling on dynamic stability of a beam subjected to a confined annular axial flow

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
The evaluation methodologies of flow induced vibration on the dynamic stability of elastic beam structure are investigated. In this paper, the instability analysis methods of a beam subjected to a confined annular axial flow are dealt with.

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Suppression of transverse vibration of elevator rope using vertical vibration of counterweight

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
An elevator rope for high-rise building is forcibly excited by the displacement of the building caused by earthquakes and wind forces. In high-rise building, the elevator rope may resonate with the natural frequency of the building; hence, effective ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation
