A coupled line bandpass filter using a novel SIR with intentional coupled length

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2015
ABSTRACTA novel stepped impedance resonator (SIR) and its design formulas for the coupled line bandpass filter (BPF) are proposed. The proposed SIR can provide tight coupling by intentionally extending the length of a coupled line. In addition, it forms the second passband much farther away compared to the conventional SIR.

Asymptotic and finite-length performance of irregular spatially-coupled codes

2014 IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking (BlackSeaCom), 2014
The newest family of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes, spatially-coupled (SC) codes, is shown to have several desirable characteristics including low implementation complexity and close-to-optimal performance over a range of channels. Furthermore, because of their ribbon-shaped parity-check matrices, window decoding can be used to decode these ...

Enhancing coupling efficiency and propagating length for surface plasmon polaritons

Applied Optics, 2010
A high coupling efficiency and long propagating length technique is suggested for surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs). An attenuated total reflection (ATR) mode is employed to enhance the coupling efficiency by SPPs resonating with the incident light in the SPP launching zone. In the SPP transmitting zone, a step-metal film is embedded in a dielectric to

Theoretical Analysis of Run Length Distributions for Coupled Motor Proteins

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2019
Motor proteins, also known as biological molecular motors, play important roles in various biological processes. In recent years, properties of single-motor proteins have been intensively investigated using multiple experimental and theoretical tools. However, in real cellular systems biological motors typically function in groups, but the mechanisms ...

Infant head circumference growth is saltatory and coupled to length growth

Early Human Development, 2011
Rapid growth rates of head circumference and body size during infancy have been reported to predict developmental pathologies that emerge during childhood. This study investigated whether growth in head circumference was concordant with growth in body length.Forty infants (16 males) were followed between the ages of 2 days and 21 months for durations ...
