The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

A DFT Study on FeI/FeII/FeIII Mechanism of the Cross-Coupling between Haloalkane and Aryl Grignard Reagent Catalyzed by Iron-SciOPP Complexes

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
To explore plausible reaction pathways of the cross-coupling reaction between a haloalkane and an aryl metal reagent catalyzed by an iron–phosphine complex, we examine the reaction of FeBrPh(SciOPP) 1 and bromocycloheptane employing density functional ...

DNA-Mediated Electron Transfer in Naphthalene-Modified Oligonucleotides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Naphthalene-modified oligonucleotides have been synthesized and characterized with respect to electron transfer chemistry. Using the Sonogashira coupling reaction, naphthalene can be covalently anchored onto a modified uridine through an ethynyl linkage.

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Properties of New Azo Dyes Derived from 3-Ethylthio-5-cyanomethyl-4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazole

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
New 1,2,4-triazole colorants were obtained, in high yields, by coupling 3-ethylthio-5-cyanomethyl-4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazole (1) with diazotized aniline derivatives 2, 4 and 6. The azo dyes prepared in this work may exist in three tautomeric forms.

Transition Metal Catalyzed Hiyama Cross-Coupling: Recent Methodology Developments and Synthetic Applications

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Hiyama cross-coupling is a versatile reaction in synthetic organic chemistry for the construction of carbon–carbon bonds. It involves the coupling of organosilicons with organic halides using transition metal catalysts in good yields and high ...

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Preparation and Biological Activities of New Heterocyclic Azo Ligand and Some of Its Chelate Complexes

open access: yesNano Biomedicine and Engineering, 2018
New azo ligand, 2[(Aminoantipyren) azo]-4, 5-bis(4-Methoxyphenyl)-H imidazole, (AAMPI) was prepared through coupling reaction of 4-amino antipyrine with 4, 5-bis (4-methoxyphenyl) imidazole.

Biogenic palladium nanostructures for Suzuki-Miyaura and Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction under mild reaction conditions

open access: yesCurrent Research in Green and Sustainable Chemistry, 2022
Biogenic palladium nanostructures (NS) are synthesized by utilising pomegranate peels which are generally considered as agro-wastes. A simple methodology without the use of external reducing agent has been applied to achieve uniform flowerlike ...

Feasibility of extracting a $\Sigma^-$ admixture probability in the neutron-rich $^{10}_{\Lambda}$Li hypernucleus

open access: yes, 2008
We examine theoretically production of the neutron-rich $^{10}_{\Lambda}$Li hypernucleus by a double-charge exchange ($\pi^-$, $K^+$) reaction on a $^{10}$B target with distorted-wave impulse approximation calculations.
