Prognostic Impact of European LeukemiaNet Genetic Risk Stratification System in Adult Patients With Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of ELN2017 in predicting survival outcomes and to assess the impact of clinical and molecular factors such as age, FLT3 and NPM1 mutations, and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo‐HSCT).

Mahalanobis balancing: A multivariate perspective on approximate covariate balancing

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Statistics
AbstractIn the past decade, various exact balancing‐based weighting methods were introduced to the causal inference literature. It eliminates covariate imbalance by imposing balancing constraints in a certain optimization problem, which can nevertheless be infeasible when there is bad overlap between the covariate distributions in the treated and ...

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

CX3CL1 in Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease: Plasma Dynamics Across Age and Disease Stages

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by amyloid‐beta plaques, tau tangles, and neuroinflammation. C‐X3‐C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CX3CL1, also known as fractalkine), a neuroimmune chemokine implicated in AD pathogenesis, shows inconsistent alterations in plasma/serum across studies.

Optimal refinement of strata to balance covariates

open access: yesBiometrics
Abstract What is the best way to split one stratum into two to maximally reduce the within-stratum imbalance in many covariates? We formulate this as an integer program and approximate the solution by randomized rounding of a linear program. A linear program may assign a fraction of a person to each refined stratum.

Kernel-Distance-Based Covariate Balancing

open access: yes, 2021
A common concern in observational studies focuses on properly evaluating the causal effect, which usually refers to the average treatment effect or the average treatment effect on the treated. In this paper, we propose a data preprocessing method, the Kernel-distance-based covariate balancing, for observational studies with binary treatments.
