Cow's Milk Protein Intolerance

Pediatrics, 1987
To the Editor.— With regard to the diagnosis of cow's milk protein intolerance, we were interested by the findings of Kahn et al (Pediatrics 1985;76:880-884) and Dr Lecks' subsequent comments (Pediatrics 1986;78:378). A hitherto undescribed clinical feature that may contribute to the establishment of this diagnosis is the presence of ...

Sensitivity to Cow's Milk

JAMA, 1964
SEVERAL REVIEWS dealing with various aspects of sensitivity to cow's milk have been published in recent years.1-3This report will point out why milk sensitivity is a complex subject not amenable to easy study or broad generalizations, and it will present a few emerging concepts based on laboratory and clinical observations. Cow's Milk and Goat's Milk

2013
Cow's milk is increasingly suggested to play a role in the development of chronic degenerative, non-communicable disorders whereas goat's milk is advocated as having several health benefits. Cow's milk is a rich and cheap source of protein and calcium, and a valuable food for bone health.

Cow's milk proteins/allergens

Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, 2002
The primary objective of this review is to provide updated data on the structure and function of the main cow's milk proteins (CMPs) identified as allergens and on the characterization of their epitopes. The review represents a synthesis of basic literature and most relevant original recent publications on both topics of clinical and epidemiologic ...

Selenium content of human milk, cow's milk and cow's milk infant formulas

European Journal of Pediatrics, 1978
The selenium content of human milk, cow's milk and cow's milk infant formula were estimated by instrumental neutron activation analysis. The highest values were found in 3 samples of human colostrum (524--865 x 10(-9) g/g dry weight). There was a significant decrease with increasing time post partum.

I apply elements of this experience to the work of teaching and psychotherapy and supervision, using the landscape of a supervised therapist and her effort to wed experience with conceptualization.

Cow's milk IgE and IgG antibody responses to cow's milk formulas

Allergy, 1999
For comparison of the antigenicity and allergenicity of three cow's milk formulas, serum IgE antibodies to cow's milk, β‐lactoglobulin and casein, and IgG antibodies to β‐lactoglobulin were analyzed in 94 infants with a family history of allergy. They were participating in a randomized trial comparing the allergy prophylactic effect of feeding an ...

Cow's milk proteins in human milk.

Journal of biological regulators and homeostatic agents, 2012
Cow's milk proteins (CMPs) are among the best characterized food allergens. Cow's milk contains more than twenty five different proteins, but only whey proteins alpha-lactalbumin, beta-lactoglobulin, bovine serum albumin (BSA), and lactoferrin, as well as the four caseins, have been identified as allergens.
