Conditioned Pain Modulation Predicts Exercise-Induced Hypoalgesia in Healthy Adults [PDF]
Introduction: Conditioned pain modulation (CPM) is the concept that pain inhibits pain and has potential rehabilitation implications for exercise prescription. The purpose of this study was to determine whether changes in pressure pain perception after a

Social Network, Surgeon, and Media Influence on the Decision to Undergo Contralateral Prophylactic Mastectomy [PDF]
OBJECTIVES: The rate of contralateral prophylactic mastectomy (CPM) has risen sharply in the past decade. The current study was designed to examine social network, surgeon, and media influence on patients' CPM decision-making, examining not only who ...

Integrated multi‐omic profiling maps the gene‐regulatory landscape of the coelomic mesothelium across heart, lung, and pancreas. A cardiac‐restricted regulatory program is uncovered in which TBX20 activates heart mesothelial (epicardial) cis‐regulatory elements, while MAF emerges as a conserved regulator of mesothelial identity.

New magic neutrino mass textures with three free parameters
Motivated by current experiments on searching for neutrinoless double beta decays, we study the phenomenological consequences and testability of the constraint relation “Mii= Mjj+Meμ+Meτ”, for i,j=e,μ,τ, on the magic neutrino mass matrix elements.

Proton FLASH Exposure Preserves Gut Commensal Microbiomes and Spares Intestinal Stem Cells
This study highlights the role of Proton FLASH abdominal irradiation in sparing of intestinal stem cells and preservation of key gut microbial population resulting minimization of radiation toxicity in intestinal epithelium in mice. Our findings support the potential of Proton FLASH to improve the therapeutic ratio for abdominal radiation exposure ...

Decay and renormalization of a longitudinal mode in a quasi-two-dimensional antiferromagnet
Anisotropic spin S >1/2 quantum magnets can have multiple low energy modes. In this manuscript, the authors study the interaction of such low energy modes in the S = 1 antiferromagnet Ba2FeSi2O7 by combining neutron scattering measurements with an SU(3 ...

Integrating Spatial Proteogenomics in Cancer Research
Xx xx. ABSTRACT Background: Spatial proteogenomics marks a paradigm shift in oncology by integrating molecular analysis with spatial information from both spatial proteomics and other data modalities (e.g., spatial transcriptomics), thereby unveiling tumor heterogeneity and dynamic changes in the microenvironment.
