An Activity‐Dependent NEPAS–PTX3 Axis Links Neurovascular and Myelin Deficits to Cognitive Impairment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An activity‐dependent pathway links prefrontal circuit hypoactivity to cognitive impairment. Reduced PVA–mPFC activity upregulates NEPAS, which suppresses PTX3 secretion, leading to impaired angiogenesis, myelin deficits, and memory decline. Rescue is achieved by NEPAS knockdown or chemogenetic circuit activation.

Evaluation of liver stiffness measurement–based scores in liver transplantation recipients

open access: yesLiver Transplantation, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Combining bioclinical parameters with liver stiffness measurement (LSM) has improved the diagnostic performance of vibration‐controlled transient elastography (VCTE) for detection of advanced fibrosis in patients with chronic liver disease. However, this approach has not yet been tested in liver transplantation (LT) recipients.

Surgical repair of humerus fracture in a patient with central pontine myelinolysis

open access: yesГений oртопедии, 2020
Introduction Central pontine myelinolysis (CPM) is a rare neurologic disorder involving severe damage to the myelin sheath of nerve cells in the pons.

The Potential Clinical Utility of Pressure-Based vs. Heat-Based Paradigms to Measure Conditioned Pain Modulation in Healthy Individuals and Those With Chronic Pain

open access: yesFrontiers in Pain Research, 2021
Conditioned pain modulation (CPM) is a physiological measure thought to reflect an individual's endogenous pain modulation system. CPM varies across individuals and provides insight into chronic pain pathophysiology.

Contemporary performance measurement systems: A review of their consequences and a framework for research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The main purpose of this paper is to develop a conceptual framework for understanding the literature on the consequences of contemporary performance measurement (CPM) systems and the theories that explain these consequences.

Haplotype‐Resolved 3D Genomic Landscapes and Their Impacts on Agronomic Traits in Grapevine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a haplotype‐resolved 3D genomic landscape of grapevine, revealing that structural variations (SVs) are closely associated with phased topologically associating domain (TAD) boundary transitions. These rearrangements coordinate with allele‐specific DNA methylation (ASM) and allele‐biased gene expression (ASE) to shape key agronomic ...

Towards Practical Graph-Based Verification for an Object-Oriented Concurrency Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
To harness the power of multi-core and distributed platforms, and to make the development of concurrent software more accessible to software engineers, different object-oriented concurrency models such as SCOOP have been proposed.

Ultrasound Activated Piezoelectric Dural Patches to Drive Endogenous Neural Stem Cell–Mediated Repair Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a wireless, non‐invasive strategy for neural repair by developing a biodegradable piezoelectric dural patch that, under transcranial ultrasound, generates localized electrical fields to drive endogenous neural stem cells toward neuronal differentiation and functional integration.

Does acetaminophen activate endogenous pain inhibition in chronic fatigue syndrome/fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis? : a double-blind randomized controlled cross-over trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: Although enhanced temporal summation (TS) and conditioned pain modulation (CPM), as characteristic for central sensitization, has been proved to be impaired in different chronic pain populations, the exact nature is still unknown. Objectives:
