CpxAR two-component system contributes to virulence properties of Cronobacter sakazakii

Food Microbiology
Cronobacter sakazakii (C. sakazakii) is a foodborne pathogen which threaten susceptible hosts including infants. CpxA/CpxR, a regulatory two-component system (TSC), contributes to stress response and virulence in various Gram-negative pathogens, but its role in C. sakazakii has not been thoroughly studied.

Generation, safety and immunogenicity of an Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae quintuple deletion mutant SLW07 (Δ apxIC Δ apxIIC Δ orf 1Δ cpxAR Δ arcA )

Vaccine, 2018
We inactivated a virulence determinant, ArcA, in an Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae quadruple deletion mutant SLW06 (ΔapxICΔapxIICΔorf1ΔcpxAR, serovar 1), and a quintuple deletion mutant SLW07 was generated. SLW07 showed decreased adherence to and invasion of host cells, compared to its parent strain SLW06.
