Main‐chain polyfullerenes: Taking fullerene to the next dimension

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
This short review appraises main‐chain polyfullerenes. Their slow development over 30 years has suddenly boomed with a rapid growth due to exciting developments in solar energy. Abstract This mini‐review gives an overview of the development, chemistry, properties and applications of main‐chain polyfullerenes.

A case of ...

Deep learning‐based super‐resolution reconstruction and improved YOLOv9 for efficient benthos detection: a case study at Lake Hamana, Japan

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
This study presents a UAV‐based framework that integrates deep learning‐based super‐resolution reconstruction and an enhanced YOLO detector to improve centimetre‐scale benthic organism monitoring. Using hermit crabs in Lake Hamana, a coastal lagoon in Japan, as a case study, the method substantially enhanced small‐object detection performance ...

A multifunctional near‐infrared dual‐channel off‐on‐off probe for sequential detection of fluoride and hypochlorous acid: Multimatrix applications

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
This multifunctional, sequence‐specific probe (DHM) enables stepwise detection: fluoride triggers red/near‐infrared emission via cleavage, then hypochlorous acid induces blue fluorescence. It achieves fast, selective visual detection in environmental samples, foods, and in vivo models.

From Map Follower to Navigator: Archetypes of Environmental Impact Assessment

open access: yesSystems Research and Behavioral Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Environmental impact assessment (EIA) scholarship is commonly framed as a tension between efficiency and comprehensiveness paradigms. These paradigms describe a persistent tension but cannot explain how EIA operates through it. Drawing on social systems theory, this analysis traces that operation.

Reproductive timing and larval dispersal of intertidal crabs: the predator avoidance hypothesis Sincronía reproductiva y de dispersión larval en cangrejos intermareales: la hipótesis anti-depredador

open access: yesRevista Chilena de Historia Natural, 2003
Many intertidal and shallow water crabs have strong reproductive cycles and migratory larvae. Females release larvae near the time of high water of the larger amplitude nocturnal tides during the semilunar or lunar cycles.

Communicative Drills: The Impact of Communicative Intent on Oral Proficiency

open access: yesTESOL Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract This exploratory study investigated the role of communicative intent in second language (L2) oral practice by comparing communicative and meaningful drills. English language learners played a game designed to elicit repeated use of the second conditional.

Latitudinal comparisons of reproductive traits in five Brachyuran species along the Chilean coast Comparaciones latitudinales de aspectos reproductivos en cinco especies de braquiuros a lo largo de la costa de Chile

open access: yesRevista Chilena de Historia Natural, 2004
Understanding large-scale patterns in reproductive investment and fecundity of marine invertebrates is important for determining the critical environmental variables affecting reproduction and thus, the spatial patterns of population dynamics.
