Low Temperature Fatigue Crack Growth Test and Life Estimation of 7475-T7351 Al-ally by ANN [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In the present wok fatigue crack growth tests have been performed under interspersed mode-I overload on 7475-T7351 Al-alloy. The overloads with an overload ratio of 2 were given at 0C, ndash;30C, ndash;45C, ndash;60C, and ndash;75C at a loading rate of 7

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Plasticity induced crack closure in adhesively bonded joints under fatigue loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The mean load of a cyclic loading has a large effect on fatigue crack growth rates in metallic materials and bonded joints. In metallic structures, this effect has been attributed to plasticity-induced crack closure, but little is known about the ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Constraint effect on corrosion fatigue crack growth behavior of A100 ultrahigh strength steel

open access: yesJournal of Aeronautical Materials
Ultrahigh strength steel has been widely used to manufacture aircraft landing gear and other load-bearing structures, which is prone to corrosion fatigue failure when serving in harsh marine environment.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Constraint Aspects of the Evaluation of Fatigue Test Results in Paris Region

open access: yesCommunications, 2006
The growth of the fatigue crack is dependent on the crack growth resistance of the material as a bulk property. The fatigue crack growth properties of a material are usually described by the correlation between a crack propagation rate, and a ...

Effects of Crack Opening Behavior on Crack Growth Rate after Overload

open access: yesJournal of Solid Mechanics and Materials Engineering, 2008
It is well known that a single tensile overload applied during constant stress amplitude cycling at a positive stress ratio causes crack growth retardation. In the case of a negative stress ratio, however, the fatigue crack growth rate actually accelerated after a tensile overload.

Measurement and analysis of critical crack tip processes during fatigue crack growth [PDF]

open access: yes
The mechanics of fatigue crack growth under constant-amplitudes and variable-amplitude loading were examined. Critical loading histories involving relatively simple overload and overload/underload cycles were studied to provide a basic understanding of ...
