Interaction of a finite crack with shear waves in an infinite magnetoelastic medium
The aim of this paper is to investigate the interaction of a finite crack with shear waves in an infinite magnetoelastic medium. Fourier integral transformation is applied to convert the boundary value problem for a homogeneous, isotropic elastic material

Computation of the crack opening displacement in the phase-field model [PDF]
The phase-field model treats discrete cracks in a smeared sense by a regularisation technique. It holds attractive properties: there is no need to consider cracks as geometric discontinuities, and it avoids remeshing around crack tips.

The purpose of this work is to investigate experimentally the effects of mixed-mode I/II loading on the fracture behavior of polymer mortars. Three point bend beam specimens with offcenter notch were used in plane-strain fracture toughness tests.

Fatigue crack growth rates under variable amplitude load spectra containing tensile underloads [PDF]
An extensive research program was performed to investigate the load interaction effect of the combined action of small amplitude high R ratio cycles and large amplitude low R ratio underloads on the crack growth of large cracks.

Test for Crack Opening Displacement of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete under Three-Point Bending
Based on the principle of electrical measurement method, the clip gauge was made to measure the crack opening displacement (COD).Through the three-point bending test on the specimens of steel fiber reinforced high strength concrete (SFHSC), the effect of

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Crack tip strain evolution and crack closure during overload of a growing fatigue crack [PDF]
It is generally accepted that fatigue crack growth is retarded after an overload, which has been explained either by plasticity-induced crack closure or near-tip residual stress.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
