Access to finance and difference in family farm productivity in Benin: Evidence from small farms

open access: yesScientific African, 2021
In most of developing countries, agricultural finance is weak and there is a great constraint for family farmers to access credit. In that context, this article aims to analyze the effect of access to finance on the productivity of smallholders family ...

The performance response of a heat pipe evacuated tube solar collector using MgO/MWCNT hybrid nanofluid as a working fluid

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2022
Utilizing a hybrid nanofluid is a promising solution for enhancing the thermal performance of the solar collector in a sustainable manner. In the present work, the effect of using magnesium oxide/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MgO/MWCNT) hybrid nanofluid

Transcriptional control by the CRE-binding protein, CRE-BP1.

open access: yesSeibutsu Butsuri, 1993
Two of the major classes of regulatory elements which contribute to transcriptional regulation by extracellular signals are the TRE and CRE sequence motifs. We have isolated the CRE-binding protein, CRE-BP1, which has a zinc finger structure as a transactivation domain located at the amino terminus and a leucine zipper motif found at the carboxy ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Image1_Lyz2-Cre-Mediated Genetic Deletion of Septin7 Reveals a Role of Septins in Macrophage Cytokinesis and Kras-Driven Tumorigenesis.JPEG

open access: yes, 2022
By crossing septin7-floxed mice with Lyz2-Cre mice carrying the Cre recombinase inserted in the Lysozyme-M (Lyz2) gene locus we aimed the specific deletion of septin7 in myeloid cells, such as monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes.

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.
